The counter sits where deliveries used to come in, poured by whoever's on the roster that night, kept simple on purpose.
No kitchen runs behind it — a board of cheese and crackers comes round after nine and the counter shuts not long after the last table clears.
Your chips are never accepted at the counter. Drinks are paid for the ordinary way, entirely separate from whatever's being scored on the felt.

Why so little
Kept small on purpose
You will notice the tea room stays deliberately modest — the cards are always the main event here, not the counter.
Ask the rostered dealer if you would like something you cannot see on the shelf; most requests are simple enough to manage.
